As previously announced, PS5 and PS4 players can enjoy a free online multiplayer weekend starting today, December 6, as part of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary celebrations. All players qualify for the free weekend irrespective of whether their PS Plus membership is expired or whether they have yet to sign up for the service.
PS5, PS4 free online multiplayer weekend details
The free weekend will end at 11:59 p.m. local time on Sunday, December 8. During this time, you can play any non F2P game online. Sony is also hosting PS5 esports tournaments this weekend, so this is the perfect time to put your skills to test and see if you qualify.
Open qualifiers have already begun for Tekken 8 and EA Sports FC 25. Fortnite open qualifier starts today, followed by Astro Bot on December 13. The competition is global, and those who make it to the final will travel to London to compete.
“PlayStation Tournaments: XP is a celebration of the players, competitors, and fans who make our competitive community a great group to be a part of,” Sony wrote. “Whether you’re competing in London or cheering on from home, we can’t wait for you to experience this new in-person competition.”
