On a Monday, just as he did last year, host and creator of The Game Awards show Geoff Keighley announced the full list of nominees for this year’s Game Awards.
While 2024 might not feel as tight as the competition was last year with games like Baldur’s Gate 3 going head-to-head with a brand new Zelda game and Alan Wake 2, this year’s entries like Metaphor: ReFantazio and Astro Bot will be more direct comparisons regarding what players value more.
Whether that’s pure, unfiltered and pushed-to-the-max joy, or the deeper complexities and layers to storytelling that are only possible within video games.
Of course being nominated only means these games made the short list, the real debates can begin when we’re talking about who won and who deserved it when The Game Awards airs this coming December 12, 2024.
