This update also includes what Sabtoage is calling Combat 2.0. The addition of Mystery Locks brings a “new gameplay loop around revealing the ways to break the spells of enemies each time a new type is encountered in battle.” Combo Points will also now remain after battle, “offering new ways to open certain encounters, or test different damage types on enemies to reveal their locks.”
Elsewhere in the update, you can expect a revamped prologue, a bonus cinematic scene, a new Relic that will help speedrunners who are “looking to set a new personal best or world record,” three new difficulty options, an improved Parrot Relic, and numerous quality-of-life improvements.
As for the new achievements, it looks like Team Power (perform a team Timed Hit or Block) and Turtle Power (perform a team Timed Block with three players) are linked to the new local co-op mode — here’s hoping you can unlock them solo or with a couple of extra controllers. You’ll also need to catch at least one fish with every character, perform all “high fives combinations,” and reveal a lock by breaking it or using a special move with the scan function. There is another secret achievement which we won’t spoil here.
