In things we didn’t expect to see today, a player has managed to stack their PS Plus Premium subscription for 24 years. While it’s not unheard of for players to stack their subscriptions for a few years, nearly a quarter of a century might just be a new record.
Stacking PS Plus is pretty common, but how long will PS Plus last?
A Reddit user shared a screenshot of their PS Plus Premium plan, which carries an expiry date of 2048. Their reason for stacking? “Absurd price increases the past few years.”
The user claims that they first stacked PS Plus Essential subscription all the way to 2048, and then managed to upgrade the whole plan to Premium for just $199. This is interesting because Sony introduced a cap on upgrades a while back. We’re not sure how this user managed to dodge that cap, and if it’s even still in place.
I’m certainly not testing this because the grand total for this activity, per my calculations, would be north of $2,000. I’m going to be entering my 60s by 2048 (if I’m still alive, that is), so I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to subscribe until then anyway.
The thread is currently one of the most popular topics in the PS Plus subreddit. A number of players have said that they’re stacked up for up to five years, but 24 years is quite the commitment. Others are wondering if PS Plus will even exist in 2048.
