Unlock Six Degrees of Schafer on Rocktober 13 with help from Tim Schafer
Each year to celebrate Brutal Legend’s anniversary, Schafer hops online in the game’s multiplayer to help players unlock the viral Six Degrees of Schafer achievement. To pop Six Degrees of Schafer, you need to play a multiplayer match with another player who already has the achievement — if you’re online on Sunday, October 13, you may get lucky and be paired up with Schafer himself.
“This Sunday is Rocktober 13, the fifteen-year anniversary of the release of Brutal Legend,” Schafer said on X. “So, you know what that means! I’ll be playing Brutal Legend on my Xbox all Sunday (well, at least from 11am to 5pm Pacific). Come and battle with me!
“I’ll be playing in random matchmaking mode because I’m still trying to get my 50 ranked victories achievement! If you play with me, you’ll get the viral (ew!) achievement if you don’t already have it!”
Six Degrees of Schafer is not a date-specific achievement, so you can unlock it by playing Brutal Legend with another player with the achievement on any date. Looking in our forums and the guide, it seems there are plenty of TrueAchievements users who are helping each other unlock this one.
Brutal Legend is not only a fantastic action-adventure game (it’s currently playable with Game Pass!), but it has one of the best Xbox soundtracks around, especially if you’re into metal.
