The conference celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, providing networking opportunities, fantastic talks and, of course, a host of fringe events. With over 1,800 individuals taking part in this two-day event, it was a packed conference. One of the fringe events that took place at the event was The Very Big Indie Pitch, both Mobile Edition and PC + Console Edition.
If you aren’t familiar with event, it’s a speed-dating-style format pitch that challenges indie developers to quick-fire pitch their game to our panel of expert judges from all corners of the gaming industry.
Teams who pitch gain valuable feedback on their games and pitch style, as well as experience in pitching quickly to a bunch of industry experts. Winners also receive prizes like promotional packages and the golden Big Indie Pitch baseball bat.
For this pitch, we saw over 20 indie developers come together to pitch their games, showcasing them to our judges. We saw a variety of games from competitive party games to games that promote a healthier lifestyle to games that were inspired by Hindu mythology.
Though there were many fantastic entries, our judges worked hard to hash it out and come up with their top three games of The Very Big Indie Pitch PC + Console Edition. Let’s get into the top three games from this pitch:
First Place – Get Colossal by Glitch Hammer (PlayStation, Xbox, PC)
Get Colossal looks like it could be the next big arena brawler! Playing as a human that can transform into a huge monster, destroying buildings and then walking around in the world that’s being destroyed.
Get Colossal feeds that itch of fighting against a bunch of other players, but watching your timer tick down to show when you will be a huge, robot-looking monster adds a really unique twist. You can work together in a team, taking on your enemy, so that you can come out on top.

Second Place – Painted Peril by Message Photon (PC)
Painted Peril has you playing as Sylvia the Squirrel, who has found herself trapped in a cave system, teeming with hostile living rocks after a meteor has struck her home. You will need to explore procedrually generated caves, taking on monsters that lurk around each corner.
A lot of the action is through colour absorption, as you have the option to kill an enemy or absorb it’s colour to use against another enemy. These enemies can also change colour based on your attacks, so balancing the colour you attack with and what colour the enemy you are attacking provides a unique perspective as you play.
Third Place – Radiant: Guardians Of Light by Chorrus Games (iOS, Android, Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac)
Radiant: Guardians of Light is a fantasy adventure game where you need to determine the fate of the kingdom of Helia. You can craft your own armor and equipment, meet different characters and battle against a bunch of vastly different enemies.
Your goal is to restore the balance within the realm, bringing the spirit of light to the world you are currently living in. Radiant: Guardians of Light looks very well developed, with lots of mini-bosses and unique monsters to create a captivating world to battle through.
