Despite the lack of tentpole PS5 exclusives in 2024, players have been treated to quite a few timed and permanent console exclusives. Within the last two months, however, there was the unprecedented case of Concord, followed by Astro Bot, followed by the lackluster Until Dawn remake, followed by the hit Silent Hill 2 remake, which Sony snagged a timed console exclusivity deal for.
Two more PS5 exclusives inbound in fall 2024
Sony has had quite an eventful 2024 between both its game releases and hardware plans. Following the Concord episode and the Astro Bot surprise, the company released yet another dud with Until Dawn remake.
You’ll be forgiven for thinking Until Dawn is out on PS5 and PC because there are barely any reviews for it, and those out there aren’t super positive. The remake has managed to score less than the original, thanks in no small part to a buggy, glitch-filled experience as well as what players have called questionable environment and story/character changes.
At the time of this writing, Until Dawn isn’t doing too hot on Steam charts and PS5 players are understandably prioritizing Silent Hill 2. We’re not sure if the remake will ultimately be worth the investment (the movie‘s filming just wrapped up), but that’s for Sony to decide.
For those wondering why I’m not mentioning Black Myth: Wukong, there’s no proof Sony paid for timed exclusivity beyond a vague Microsoft statement and shoddy reports.
Anyway, there are two more PS5 exclusives inbound: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (October 31) followed by Lego Horizon Adventures (November 14). Want to place bets on how these two will fare?
