Rather than just hearing it reported elsewhere, we’ve now heard directly from Ubisoft that much to its chagrin, Star Wars: Outlaws did not perform as expected to sales-wise.
But Ubisoft is of course hoping to turn things around, and has already begun working on updates that players will hopefully see as positive.
Following the news that Outlaws had under-performed in sales, the development team put out a statement to players through the game’s official Twitter page.
It reiterated that the studio is working hard on coming updates to bring quality of life changes, and that the story DLC featuring fan-favourite character Lando Calrissian will arrive on November 21, 2024.
“You’ve been roaming the Outer Rim for almost a month now, and we want to thank you again for your support!” the statement began.
“Your feedback is invaluable in helping us prioritize the improvements and changes we will make to the game.
We’re hard at work creating multiple title updates which will bring optimization, gameplay polishing and tweaks as well as quality of life changes including adjustments to combat and stealth gameplay.
That’s not all – our very first story pack, Star Wars: Outlaws Wild Card, will also launch on November 21 and will see Kay and Nix infiltrate a high stakes Sabacc tournament where they will face off against the legendary Lando Calrissian. In addition, new contracts will be added free for all players.”
While Outlaws may not have hit the mark at launch, it could prove to be a strong seller in the long run, should these updates and coming DLC’s work in turning the tide.
