Polar Patriots is the third Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2, following the Democratic Detonation and Cutting Edge Warbonds that were released in April and March respectively.
Helldivers 2 is going through a spot of turmoil at the moment, thanks to the announcement and near-immediate revocation of a controversial account-linking mandate for Steam players. Still, the war must go on. As of this writing, the Polar Patriots Warbond is still on track for this week.
Below, we detail when the Polar Patriots Warbond releases in Helldivers 2 in your time zone, plus some details about what to expect.
Polar Patriots Warbond release time: When does the new Helldivers 2 update launch?
The Polar Patriots Premium Warbond is set to go live on Thursday, May 9. While neither publisher PlayStation Studios nor developer Arrowhead Game Studios have announced the exact release time, we can make an educated guess about its release time based on previous launches. Cutting Edge went live around 6:30 a.m. EST while Democractic Detonation went live around 5:00 a.m. EDT.
With that in mind, here’s a roughly three-hour window for when the Polar Patriots Warbond goes live in your time zone:
- Between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America
- Between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
- Between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. GMT for the U.K.
- Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. CET for western Europe / Paris
- Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. JST for Tokyo
How much does the Polar Patriots Warbond cost in Helldivers 2?
Though a price has not been announced for Polar Patriots, previous Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2 have cost 1,000 Super Credits (or $9.99), so it’s safe to expect the same in this case.
Unlike battle passes in many other live service games, once purchased, Premium Warbonds never go away in Helldivers 2. Note that you do not get all of the associated rewards automatically; you still have you play your way through the pass.
What’s new in the Polar Patriots Warbond for Helldivers 2?
The Polar Patriots Premium Warbond will feature three capes, three primary weapons, two utilities, and one sidearm. Let’s break down the highlights:
- There are three primary weapons: the AR-61 Tenderizer, a high-damage assault rifle with a small clip; the SMG-72 Pummeler, an SMG with concussive rounds but a slower-than-usual fire rate; and the PLAS-101 Purifier, an energy weapon in which you charge up shots for greater impact.
- The P-113 Verdict sidearm is a semi-automatic pistol with deep ammo capacity.
- Each of the armor sets in Polar Patriots comes with a passive boost. The CW-36 Winter Warrior features the Servo-assisted perk. CW-22 Kodiak comes with Fortified. And CW-4 Arctic Ranger grants Scout.
- As for tools, the Motivational Shocks is a utility booster that minimizes slowdown effects, while the G-13 Incendiary Impact grenade lives up to its namesake: It lights everything on fire on impact.
