Gray Zone Warfare is a highly realistic military shooter, and that realism extends to the weapon customization and attachment systems. You can’t just toss any scope on any gun and call it a day. There are rules for these things.
If you’ve ever played Escape From Tarkov, then you know how embarrassing it can be to fumble around with weapon attachments and not be able to make them work. There’s nothing more infuriating than your gun-nut friend mocking you over Discord. “Of course, you have to remove the M4A1’s Carrying Handle to add a holographic sight, duh.” Don’t worry though, adding attachments to your Gray Zone Warfare guns is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
How to Use Weapon Attachments in Gray Zone Warfare
To add an attachment to your gun in Gray Zone Warfare, press the Tab key to open the menu and navigate to the Character tab to find your inventory. Then, right-click on your weapon of choice and click Inspect to open a sub-menu detailing all the gun’s parts.
In this menu, you can see every available slot on the gun and what’s currently occupying the rails, muzzle, and other parts of the weapon. Adding an attachment is as easy as dragging and dropping it into the right spot. The hard part is learning which attachments are compatible with which weapons.
To add an EXPS2 Holographic Sight to the M4A1, for example, you first need to remove the Carrying Handle to expose the top rail. Then, the empty slot will start glowing when you drag the optic, signifying that it’s now compatible. If you want to use an ACOG 4x scope with the M4A1, though, the Carrying Handle needs to stay on.
It’s a learning process, and you’ll get the hang of it as you get more familiar with your firearms. There are too many nuances to list here (some attachments even need dedicated mounts), so just play around with the available gear and see what works with your favorite guns.
Where to Get Weapon Attachments in Gray Zone Warfare
In addition to scavenging for them in the wild, you can purchase attachments for your guns from Gray Zone Warfare’s vendors. Gunny — as his name implies — sells guns. He also sells attachments for those guns. If you’ve got the cash, you can get attachments and even weapon parts from him.
You’ll unlock more vendors as you level up and progress through the storyline of Gray Zone Warfare, but Gunny will remain your main contact for weapons and attachments. Make sure to complete his quests and any other tasks you can accept to maximize your vendor reputation.
