At long last, the day has come where we have found out the official release date for Death Stranding. Everyone will be able to experience the strange and wondrous world that Kojima has created on November 8, 2019. Yes it’s coming out this year!
After a long 72 hours of nonstop teasing, Kojima and company finally revealed a rather lengthy trailer which actually showed off some gameplay. Norman Reedus takes center stage alongside Mads Mikkelson and Troy Baker, and a whos who of an ensemble cast of actors and voice talent in a world where dark monsters have taken over while some humans are struggling to stay alive. The mechanics and gameplay aspects are all reminiscent of Kojimas previous game series, Metal Gear, and on top of that, the system uses the Fox Engine, the same one that was used during Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pains development.
In the trailer, Kojimas ability to mess with our minds is on full display here as it showcases the characters coping with the world around them and what they have to do to try and win it back. Meanwhile, it looks like their will also be an enemy faction to deal with, specifically Troy Baker’s character as he has one of the main cast members captured before he sickeningly licks them on the face.
This has been a long time coming, and what a journy it has been. After three long years of what, who, and where questions, we can finally check this one off the list. The game is coming out this year, and it will be just in time for the holidays. The game is now available for pre-order, which includes a standard and special edition as well as some incentives to pre-order ahead of time. As we said earlier, Death Stranding will officially launch on November 8, 2019 for the PlayStation 4.
