Fellow Traveller and Jump Over the Age have finally announced the release date for Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. PS5 players won’t have to wait long for the sequel to the critically acclaimed dice-driven sci-fi RPG.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector coming to PS5 late January
Revealed in a brand new Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector trailer, PS5 players can get their hands on the game on January 31, 2025. Unlike the first entry, it will come to PlayStation’s platform on launch day. Check out the trailer below to see its dicey gameplay.
“As an escaped Sleeper with a malfunctioning body, players will get a ship, find a crew, navigate relationships, and take on contracts as they explore the Starward Belt – all while trying to survive,” reads the game’s description. “They will have to choose between pushing their luck for greater rewards or potentially taking on stress that damages their dice – their only true means of survival – and accrue glitches in their Sleeper’s system.”
Any PS5 players that own a PC can get glimpse of Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector a bit early. The limited-time Hexport demo is back on Steam, and will be available until December 8, 2024.
Citizen Sleeper first launched in May 2022 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Nearly a year later in March 2023, it came to both PS4 and PS5. It is widely considered one of the best games of 2022, even garnering a The Game Awards nomination. Critically, it was received well. Based on 23 reviews, it received a metascore of 82 on Metacritic. Impressively, Steam reviews are “Very Positive” based on the 5,433 players that left their feedback.
Anyone curious about this sequel should check out the first game. It is available now on PS5 via the PS Store for $19.99.
