Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sequel in the works at Respawn
As confirmed by EA Entertainment and Technology president Laura Miele during a recent investor presentation (thanks, VGC), Respawn Entertainment is cooking up the next Star Wars Jedi game.
“We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all-time, with over $5 billion in net bookings,” Miele said. “This impressive track record includes of course the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi. Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”
We’ve seen a few comments about a third Star Wars Jedi game being in development in recent months, but this is the first official confirmation from EA. Last year, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor’s former director, Stig Asmussen, mentioned wanting Star Wars Jedi to be a “trilogy,” but at the time, it was unclear if a third game would be greenlit, as Survivor hadn’t yet been released.
Respawn then appeared to be hiring for a new Star Wars Jedi game later in the year. Following that, Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan confirmed that “conversations” about a third game were already being had.
Earlier this year, EA laid off around 5% of its workforce, canceling a Star Wars first-person shooter at Respawn, which rumors suggested was based on The Mandalorian.
