Catfish is one of the many fish you can find in Fields of Mistria, but if you don’t know where to look, it can be hard to find.
Pretty early on into the game, Hemlock will request for you to get him a catfish via the request board, in exchange for a recipe to learn how to make breaded catfish.
Below, we explain where to find catfish in Fields of Mistria, along with what else you can use them for.
Where to find catfish in Fields of Mistria
You can find catfish in any ponds year-round. If you’re having a hard time discerning what is and isn’t a pond, look for lily pads floating in the water, which is a pretty good indicator. There are lots of ponds in the southern part of the Eastern Road map (the area east of town).
Catfish specifically come from medium-sized shadows in the water, which admittedly can be hard to tell apart from the large shadows, unless there’s a large one nearby to directly compare it to. Just keep at it, casting your line at these medium-sized shadows until you nab a catfish. If you’re not seeing any medium-sized shadows, you can leave the map and come back to refresh the fish spawns.
Being honest, fishing in the ponds can be pretty tough, since even with the maxed out fishing rod (the silver fishing rod, as of writing this), there will often be times where the fish will swim around too far for your rod to cast to. You’ll just need to be patient when this happens.
What are catfish used for?
Outside of the initial quest where they’re requested, you can use catfish to cook breaded catfish. When cooked with flour and oil, it’ll make an item that heals 64 HP and stamina, which isn’t too bad. Reina loves breaded catfish, so you can use this item to raise your relationship with her. Otherwise, you can sell the fish for 80 Tesserae each.
